Some advice before you start

Repair - Repair guide: Complete Display Assembly iPhone 5

Step 1

Before replacing complete display assembly of your iPhone 5, you have to securely turn it off.

Maintain the power button on the top for a few seconds.

Then slide to the right to "power off" button in red.

Step 2

Remove the two screws circled in red with a pentalobe screwdriver as shown on the picture.

They are located at the bottom of the iPhone around the dock connector (lightning).

Step 3

Place the suction cup on the screen of your iPhone 5.

The suction cup has to be placed as near as possible from the home button (round button at the bottom of the iPhone 5).

It has to be put on the whole screen.

Step 4

Make sure the suction secures the screen of your iPhone 5.

Pull the suction cup strongly enough to create a space between the front panel and the rest of the screen.

Gently insert a nylon spudger inside that space and pry up.

The screen of your iPhone 5 is still attached to the rear panel. To unclip it, slide the nylon spudger on the left side and then the right side.

Step 5

Once unclipped, lift the screen and hold it vertically as shown on the picture.

Attention : Don't try removing the screen just yet ! It is still attached to the iPhone 5 by a few connectors.

Step 6

Remove the 3 cruciform screws securing the connectors bracket to the iPhone 5 logic board :

two 1.2mm cruciform screws circled in red,

one 1.6mm cruciform screw circled in yellow.

ATTENTION : This last screw isn't magnetized, it will not stay attached to a magnetized screwdriver. Make sure not to lose it during the disassembly .

Step 7

With a pair of tweezers, remove the screen connectors and back camera bracket.

Step 8

With the nylon spudger gently pry to disconnect the connector linked to the camera assembly and proximity sensor.

Step 9

Still with the nylon spudger, disconnect the connector linked to the touch screen.

Step 10

Then disconnect the connector from the LCD screen.

Retirez ensuite l'écran.

Step 11

The complete display assembly of your iPhone 5 is now disassembled.

In case of breakage, you can replace it by a new one.
